Hi.
I have already bought the DVD app so it is already there since I really needed to get it working.
So I dont know if your answer would have helped. I have anyway also searcht for updates in windows store but none was availble. I will take the question about paybay in the link with the receipt I got in the mail, is that the right way to get refund?
BUT, main proglem is still there. I cant watch a DVD movie on a DVD disk. The player get frozen, sounds working sometimes while picture dosnt, it hangs totally sometimes and show frame by frame etc etc etc etc. Summary: Your DVD player app in Windows 10 do not work!
It is legal bought DVDs, I have also tried rented DVD movies, they all get problem. Sometime it works for 10 minuters sometimes 5 minutes sometimes 20 minutes until i get stalled.
I have searched the manufacture for videodrivers (DELL) or other drivers for Windows 10, there is no update availble for my PC.
What is the problem? How hard can it be to write an app that can play a DVD movie???!! How can you fix this? Do I need to somehow remowe Windows 10?
I have also tried to play the DVD disk in Windows Media Player that still resist after the upgrade in my Windows 10 PC, but there it cant find the disk at all, have the function removed from that software?
I want to be able so view my Films please.

I think you are looking at this from the wrong perspective.
The DVD player in your computer is NOT made by Microsoft, the playback program is.
You said you BOUGHT a program as well, and that is not the Microsoft program mentioned by the tech, please follow the links.
Whatever you are doing seems to be compounding the problem and you should have asked for help before blindly spending money, I am sorry that you may have wasted that effort.
What you should be doing is:
Determine if what you were using is INTERFERING with Windows DVD player, and by that I mean uninstall it and try again.
Also, are the drivers for your drive CURRENT and installed? Go into Device Manager and look for conflicts and missing drivers.
You also mentioned a currency that is foreign to mine, so that suggests to me that you might not have the REGION setting correct. If you are wanting to play discs from various parts of the world with different regional pressings (there are a few because of multiple TV standards at the time of DVD's introduction in the mid-90s) you need go into your settings for the hardware and probably the software and make sure that whatever region you use (region 0 is universal if I recall correctly) and leave both there.
Depending on how long you've had the drive, it may just be getting OLD. The Windows DVD program may also not be able to play all the types of discs you use anymore. It's true that newer, so-called universal players in Blue Ray disc format, for example don't include some formats that used to be played anymore *and I've had friends confirm this.
Do yourself a favor and look up what the app does and doesn't do and if that doesn't suit you, find another app and uninstall/disable this one. You are not chained to it.

This is the most unhelpful response Ive ever read and Microsoft should be ashamed of it - if you take a DVD player out of Windows 10 compared to prior versions (7 & 8) and then make people pay for it - and then when it doesnt work disown it - you deserve to lose your customer base - this response should make everyone who reads it disgusted with Microsoft and run to the Apple store

You DO realize that you can use the Media Creator too from them to save the ISO to a USB stick/storage device (all the versions combined leave a good amount free on a 16 GB USB thumb drive) ?
Been there and done that.
I'm completely back on 7 on all my machines but that doesn't mean I wouldn't give you whatever I know from experience.
And I tried making a DVD, that really didn't work well for me nor for my friends that tried it. It's almost too big.

I have the same problem. I have purchased powerdvd16 based on recommendations, Windows 10 DVD player based on this is it. No, problem still there. Plays and freezes. Worked PERFECT before GD upgrade. I feel ripped off and no fix to problem, and cannot go back without losing what I have put on this computer since purchase 2 years ago. VERY DISSAPOINTED!
